I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it here before, but I hate Facebook. More than that, I abhor it. Loathe it with a passion. Despise it almost beyond description. The ONLY reason I have a Facebook page is because one of my brothers sent me a request a couple of years ago wanting to be one of my “friends.” What are you going to do? Tell a brother, “No, I don’t want to be your “friend?” “I never liked you when we were kids, why would I want to be your friend now?” Of course not. I DO like my brother. Always have. I think he’s a great guy and I’m very proud of him and ALL my brothers. So I signed up, of course.
Just a few minutes ago I got a “notification” from Facebook that said:
65 years old · Write on his wall.

I remember your post. While it’s nice to be reminded of Gerry, those Facebook notices I keep hearing about would drive me crazy. I tried FB, didn’t like it and quit. Thank goodness I didn’t have a family member asking me to join!
If I didn’t have a Facebook page I would not be part of any information about my family! As inane and hollow as it is they all seem to favor it to let others (the whole world!) know what they all have done, are doing and are about to do.
I UNDERSTAND why so many people have Facebook pages, but it doesn’t change my feelings about the site. And NO, I don’t want to give you water so you can irrigate the crops in your imaginary farm or any of the other foolishness that so many people engage in there. I also don’t want to “tag” anyone’s photos. I DO appreciate the notices of someone’s pending birthday so I can send them a card because I’m absolutely HORRIBLE at remembering things like that.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and take the time to leave a comment.
