One More Good Adventure 
I know a couple of guys in the Texas hill country who fancy themselves furniture makers. (Actually, they are – and quite good ones, though not in the business.)
They’d attest to the truth of this one! To paraphrase the bard, “How do you love your hobby? Let us count the missing fingers…”

There’s more than one way to ditch some digits. A good friend of mine who was captain of a large catamaran was picking up a mooring in Newport, RI, and while attempting to put it on the bow cleat got his fingers trapped between the big rusty thimble of the mooring and the cleat. The bow rose in the waves and stripped all the meat and flesh from the tips to the second knuckle off the bones. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! He’s now selling cars in Midland, TX.
